We have a wealth of experience working with Veterans, victims of domestic violence and Indigenous and BIPOC populations. We are dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore their experiences, process their emotions, and develop effective coping strategies by using different evidence-based therapies for trauma and PTSD. These therapeutic approaches are designed to help individuals process and integrate their traumatic experiences, reduce distressing symptoms, and promote healing and resilience. At Zeroit Counselling Services, we believe in a holistic approach to trauma and PTSD treatment. We address not only the symptoms but also the underlying causes and contributing factors. Our team collaborates closely with each individual, tailoring treatment plans to their unique needs and goals.

Each of these anxiety disorders presents unique challenges, but they all share a common thread of excessive worry, fear, and unease.
Our mental health professionals will work with you to identify and develop strategies to manage and overcome anxiety. We empower individuals to take an active role in thir anxiety treatment, equipping them with the skills and resources needed for long-term success.

Depression
Depression can be caused by a combination of genetic, biological, environmental, and psychological factors. Traumatic life events, such as the loss of a loved one, relationship problems, financial difficulties, or chronic stress, can trigger or exacerbate depressive episodes. Therapy for depression often involves evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which helps individuals identify and challenge negative thought patterns and develop healthier coping strategies. Other therapeutic modalities, such as psychodynamic therapy, interpersonal therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions, may also be utilized depending on the individual's needs and preferences.

Grief and loss
Grief is a natural and complex emotional response to the loss of a loved one or a significant life change. It can manifest in various ways, including feelings of sadness, anger, guilt, confusion, and even physical symptoms.
We recognise that grief is not limited to the loss of a loved one. It can also stem from other significant life changes, such as the end of a relationship, a job loss, or a major health diagnosis. Our mental health professionals are experienced in supporting individuals through various types of grief, recognising the individuality of each person's grief journey and providing personalised care to meet their specific needs. We offer guidance and tools to help them adapt to their new reality and find meaning and purpose moving forward.

Victims of sexual assault /abuse
Surviving sexual assault or abuse is an incredibly challenging journey, we recognize that each survivor's experience is unique, and we honor your individuality and personal journey.
We approach therapy with a deep understanding of the complex effects of sexual assault or abuse on your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. In our therapeutic approach, we combine evidence-based practices with innovative techniques to create a healing environment that is tailored to your specific needs. We draw upon modalities such as art therapy, mindfulness, body-centered approaches, and somatic experiencing to help you reconnect with your body, process your emotions, and restore a sense of safety and empowerment.
